The City of Pueblo: hometown to 36 Medal of Honor recipients and bustling with activity down at the historic Arkansas Riverwalk.
Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve: North America's tallest sand dunes, covering approximately 19,000 acres.
Comanche National Grassland: including the the dinosaur tracks at Picketwire Canyon and the Anasazi rock art along the banks of the Purgatory River. This area is also host to a myriad of summertime farmer’s markets. La Junta and the Arkansas River Valley are famous for wonderful melons and vegetables.
The Royal Gorge: southern Colorado’s historic suspension bridge spanning one of our state’s deepest canyons. The mighty Arkansas River winds through the granite up to 1250 feet below.
Bent’s Fort: a National Historic Site featuring a reconstructed 1840’s adobe fur trading post on the mountain branch of the Santa Fe Trail used by traders, trappers, travelers, and Plains Indian tribes.
